Children's Ministry at Skiatook First United Methodist Church

Our congregation is a church family, and you will find folks of all ages engaged in the various activities and opportunities designed to help us all grow spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally as disciples of Jesus Christ.

We welcome all kinds of families, traditional and non-traditional. We enjoy the diversity of various cultures, races, religious backgrounds, and family groupings: one parent, two parents, grandparents raising grandchildren, children added to your family through birth or through adoption, and more.

Bring your whole family and come by for a visit!

A Fully Staffed  Nursery

Miss. Kelie and Miss Maddiey are our nursery workers.  The nursery is open for children up to four years old.  We have a bright, clean nursery with lots of age appropriate toys.  You can drop your little ones off knowing that they are in capable hands.  The nursery is located down the hall on the east end, across from the church office.

Sunday School

Children have fun learning Bible stories in a fun and creative way. Each week children learn a new story, Bible verse and prayer. Sunday School is every Sunday at 9:30am for children 4 yrs – 4th grade

Children’s Church

Children will spend 5-6 weeks learning the same story but in a different, interactive, FUN way each week so that the children will retain more of what they are learning. Interactive lessons include story, crafts, games, music, science and more! Children’s Church is offered during the 10:30am Worship Service.  Children remain in the sanctuary until after the Children's moment, and then go for 20-25 minutes into Children's Church with Miss Miria.    The first Sunday of each month is Communion Sunday, and children remain in the sanctuary the entire service.

Various Seasonal and Family Activities

We offer various opportunities throughout the year for families and children to paticipate in fun, learning activities.  Participation in Advent Workshop, Lenten workshop,  family game night, family movie nights and occasional outings helps keep family time intact, while still learning about God and how to worship.  We do have a Kid's Night Out once a month on Sunday evenings from 4-7.  Parents can drop children off for an evening of learning, fun and dinner.  $5:00 per child, or $15 max per family.

Vacation Bible School

We love VBS! Kids spend the week learning about God in amazing settings with the craziest cast of characters around! We sing and dance, jump for joy, power up with prayer and get crafty.

The children at SFUMC participate in many camps during the summer.  Church camp is a vital part of a childs faith journey, and we will do what it takes to make sure any child that wants to go to camp, goes.
