Sewing Class
6:00 PM to 9:00 PM
A class for those at the beginning stages of sewing to those who are more advanced. Each person furnishes their own supplies. This is a community group that is free and open to the public, with volunteer instructors. Monday 6-9pm. All ages are welcome, but no child care is provided. .

Director of Children's Ministry and After School Adventure Camp

Miria Jones

Miria Jones is the director of childrens ministries at FUMC Skiatook.  She is a lifelong Methodist and has served in many roles concerning children and youth for several years at Village United Methodist in Oklahoma City before recently coming to Skiatook.  These roles include teaching Sunday School, teaching and directing Vacation Bible School and being a youth sponsor and volunteer for the Appalachian Service Project  (www.asphome.org). 

Miria and her husband Keifer both grew up in Miami, Ok.  They moved Oklahoma City in 1996 along with their children Lindsay and Amanda.  Lindsay still lives in Oklahoma City with her husband Cesar Betancourt where she works for the State of Oklahoma.  Amanda and her son Alex also live in Oklahoma City where she attends Southwestern Christian University on a soccer scholarship.  Mirias son Will was born in Oklahoma City and is now a student at Newman middle school in Skiatook.  Keifer, Miria and Will made the move to Skiatook when Keifer was transferred to the Tulsa office of Halliburton where he is a Tech Professional in the Baroid division.

Miria enjoys working with children and looks forward to helping them to grow in Christian journey through Bible study, stories, crafts, play and mission.
