Sewing Class

A class for those at the beginning stages of sewing to those who are more advanced. Each person furnishes their own supplies. This is a community group that is free and open to the public, with volunteer instructors. Monday 6-9pm. All ages are welcome, but no child care is provided. .

For those not comfortable doing traditional yoga on mats, the stretches and poses in this class are all done while sitting in a chair. Cost is $5. Please bring a water bottle.

Susan Whitley

Rev. Susan Whitley is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, and has been under appointment in the Oklahoma Annual Conference since 2006.  She has served churches in the Enid District, Muskogee District, and currently FUMC Skiatook in the Council Oak District.   She  graduated from Phillips Theological Seminary in 2009 with an M.Div.

 

Susan is married to Rev. Mark Whitley, pastor of  Meadowcreek United Methodist Church in Collinsville OK. They have three children; Bryan (married to Julie), Chris (married to Kim), and Caitlin Whitley Hayes (married to Jordan),  They have one grandchild, Adalynn Renae Whitley, of Norman.

 

Susan grew up in South Louisiana, earning a degree in Early Childhood Education from McNeese St. University, and later a M.Ed. in Educational Administration from Centenary College in Shreveport, LA.  Before entering the ministry full time, she taught elementary school for over 20 years.

Rev. Whitley describes herself as a sports nut who gets easily distracted during March Madness. She writes "I love the New Orleans Saints, OK State Football, and Thunder Basketball.  Who Dat? Go Pokes, and Thunder Up! "
